Hunter-Prey

I looked for it within the social scene, A hunter on a never-ending quest, My prey, a place my heart could safely rest, And fill the emptiness that lies between The birth of life and the end in death, serene. I looked in all the places I thought were best, Towards the north, the south, the east and west, But it was not in any place I had been. I left my quest behind to live my life, Content to dwell where poet’s words decree That love divine is always seeking me In this dear world of hunger and warring strife Alone but for a pen and painter’s knife My artisan seemed to be floating free Then here I found it, the only place it be My love, at last you come to make my life.
