Hungry Ghost

a hungry ghost greets me at the door tries to act normal though I know what he is not normal at all with an emptiness that can’t be filled though he’ll try and try again and again at first glance a pretty face large brown eyes with long lashes twinkling alluring like a siren thick brown hair tiny mouth that isn’t a mouth but a hole too small for a blade of grass to pass big enough to emit the screech of hunger in his massive belly perpetually craving anything to appease his needs no longer picky about which drug will it get me high? or person will they get me off? existing dumbed down to what will keep him alive until he’s dead will it be the shiny warm combination of a bathtub and heroin accidental mixing of alcohol and GHB or recognizing himself in the distorted face of another ghost as they stop breathing

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
