GLOSSARY
‘Implicature is concerned not only with what you actually say, but with what you imply by what you say.’ – H. Paul Grice (philosopher)
abditory: (n) a hiding place
balter: (v) (Middle English) To dance gracelessly, without particular art or skill, but perhaps with some enjoyment.
NB Alliteration is the repetition of the same initial consonant sound in a series of words. In this case, inertia, inevitable, and interaction all begin with the letter ‘I’, but they do not alliterate in the traditional sense because they do not share the same initial consonant sound. Inertia starts with a soft ‘i’ sound, while inevitable and interaction start with a short ‘i’ sound.
