How To Give a Guy a Premarital Suitability Exam

Before the "I do" she must choose
A man that does well in dance shoes
His psyche gives a clue
When employing step two
Ply him to the limit with booze

Now, there's something I haven't tried... choosing a guy because he can dance. Maybe that's where I went wrong.

I believe this is true. You do want to see what someone is really like, and this is a shortcut. Angry drunks should be avoided like the plague even when sober.

Loved it Duke. I think I would have certainly fail that test if it was indeed administered.

I have heard this from many divorced people. Your x probably wanted to take advantage of your good nature and hid things from you. Alcohol is a great (if used sparingly) revealer of the inner core of a soul. Thanks for visiting. You have a marvelous heart!

Smiling, this is actually good sound advice, for booze loosens the lips as well as the hips. Always enjoy your writes Duke. Hugs

This has nothing to do with death,,, I'm referring to my swan poem. Unless your're talking of marriage,,,, I've never been married,,,, never wanted to sign that paper ;} Though I do like the verse ;}

Debbie, you are right. Your poem does talk about dancing and it got me to thinking about something I have felt for a while. It doesn't matter whether it's a marriage or not. In any serious relationship, we want to know what is at the core of our partner's soul. I know I become more friendly after a drink. It's because I have a true love for most people.

Karen, I knew a guy who was extremely funny and pleasant to be around. He ended up divorced. His mean streak and how he really felt only came out when he became intoxicated. But when it did-oh brother!
