Hope
HOPE
A cry
A nuzzle,
A despair
A paw,
A stare
A wagging tail,
A feeling lost
A lap.
My life has changed,
A ray of hope has come
Into the life of this olde sailor boy,
My journey has been strewn with
Obstacles insurmountable at times,
Tragedy of personal kind,
Of many losses that has been personally felt,
Days with and without tears from heart,
Times without hope seemingly,
Coaching lessons by telephone to help,
Timeout in hospital wards where hope seems bleak,
Chilling out with veteran mates
Marching out on our parade with cheering crowds,
Many lessons of learning a how,
A how to understand
That I walk a pathe of past
And not to linger long,
That what was then
Is not now in present day,
And for this olde sailor boy
I have survived my past
And present day is where I live and survive,
And for me there is a plenty
A plenty of encouragement,
By those who understand and by those who don’t,
And they all part of my team all around,
And in my plan coffee sessions with mate Ian
And in each
They all play a part in order that this olde matelot lad,
Has a day of victory
And prayer to my God of hope.
And for me in daily dose,
A cry
A nuzzle,
A despair
A paw,
A stare
A wagging tail,
A feeling lost
A lap.
