Hooray for Summer;
Spring was a bummer,
hesitant to show her face.
It's time for some fun
and allow the Sun,
to reclaim its rightful place.
When the Lilacs bloom,
their scent lifts the gloom;
announcing Summer's debut.
And misty showers
drench the wildflowers;
shedding drops of sparkling dew.
I can hardly wait,
Summer's running late;
I am eager to begin.
Like a pepper pot
the Sun's, sizzling hot;
I feel its burn on my skin.
I think I will go
to a beach I know,
and bask in the Sun's warm rays.
It will feel so grand
to play on the sand;
and enjoy warm Summer days.
