FIRST PLACE

Halloween is not just for kids these days,
as I found one night when all was ablaze;
a scary creature grabbed me,
and I kicked so I could flee ...
turns out it was my neighbour, old Mr. Mays !
Once, I was thinking of Thanksgiving food,
and the joy and fun mom had with her brood;
oh, fat turkey was just chilling,
and mom's dance moves were just thrilling ...
the oven never on . . . we had fast-food !
Mom yelled, Dad get a nice big Christmas tree,
so, off to the lot me and dad did flee;
we said, please we want one big,
one bigger than last years twig ...
stuck in door and we could not get it free !
