A Needed Nudge from a Glum Ghost
‘Twas the day before Christmas last year.
I was filled with sweet holiday cheer.
getting ready to bake
pumpkin pies, a rum cake,
and a turkey--when who should appear?
A fat man in a reindeer-drawn sleigh
packed with toys for all kiddies? No way!
An accusing glum ghost
said, “You’re gonna be toast.
You lack aunts’ gifts for this special day!”
When I realized what I had done,
it was late. I was under the gun.
I dashed off to the mall.
CLOSED! But I didn’t squall?
I made each aunt a huge honey bun.
