History Repeats
In the aftermath of the first world war
Society began to shift
The divide of the classes thus far
Began to feel a rift.
When the service class began to rise
Aristocracy began to fail
The workers spoke up, please share the prize
Society began to wail.
Villagers began to demand their place
Discontent was the norm
And into the future they both did race
As a middle class was born.
In these modern times are we to repeat
The great divide again
Will we gather in mobs, take to the street
Is that what it takes to win?
Or will we demand with our voices once more
For progress to begin
Not with burning or looting, as once before
Destruction would be a sin!
If you disagree, let your voice be heard
With votes and a pen
Apathy is silent, with never a word
Speak up, help democracy win.
