His Sunset Years

   in his sunset years he daily 
traversed a mile to smile
waiting  
             w a t c h i n g 

A L E R T

the lilt of phantomic voice to 
O P E N   his 

                      k
                        i
                          L
                             t

                                  and   B e l l    {sSs}

serpentine a slither across 
a languid lunar lake
                 nebula a backdrop floss
elegant as cobra         s
                               n
                                     AkE  

a myriad dragonflies 
led her to phosphorus 
rock as home to hide
decipher sweet purpose
               DIVINE  

she circled it twice
to magnetic pluck
         H E A R T   s t r i n g S   too  tightly tense 
              on daisy dandelion bank    
                    of Life’s River gurgling     ¥$¥            

tossing peb 
                                      bles with
all his         
                          MIGHT  ••••

mannekins attempting to serve 
her manna between a cascade 
of malachite crystals                 ***
                                    ****        +       ***

her green tongue caught
its nourishing nutrients
she was

                    C H A M E L E O N
