Hint of Autumn
Time is precious do not waste it.
I watch the swifts circling to leave,
the rhythm of nature moves on
and evening is drawing quickly.
There is a dampness in the air.
Time is precious do not waste it.
I pull my scarf closer to me
and enjoy the last of the light.
I walk past the fallen chestnuts
just ready for the start of school.
Time is precious do not waste it.
I ponder where the year has gone.
I smile as I spy ripe berries,
The bounty is ready to pick.
There is no way to slow it down.
Time is precious do not waste it
