Hiding From Love

I hid behind a tree when love was seeking me, I did not want to meet her, for she had lied to me. My heart had suffered, from meeting her before, She had smiled at me, than abruptly shut the door. She sang her song of happiness and cheer, But I had been hurt before, with her unyielding spear. I slowly slipped away and tiptoed out of sight, Because I already knew love had a great appetite. Sitting on a park bench, I saw a girl walk by, I saw her angel face and my heart was mystified. I really did not want to feel the way I did before, My heart won out, and let love come in once more.
