Hesitator Or Investigator
The eleven apostles and other disciples were gathered in hiding.
They were certainly fearful and wondered what would happen next.
Meanwhile, certain women followers of Jesus went to the tomb of Christ.
They were met by angels who quickly informed them of Jesus' resurrection.
With joy and mixed emotions, they rushed to inform the apostles and others.
There was both disbelief and fear, but both their doubts and fears were dismissed, and John and Peter ran to investigate; and arriving at an empty
tomb, John HESITATED and stopped at the entry. Though John was a faster runner, vintage Peter RUSHED RIGHT IN ahead of John to fully investigate.
After observing this scene of the two apostles, I asked myself if I was a 'hesitator or an investigator'. Am I running this Christian race at a marathon pace only to be an observer, or am I all-in like Peter? In search of the Crucified One, in search of the Resurrected One, am I like John; or am I like Peter? Although Peter had many negative traits that I would not want to be identified with, in this instance where Peter was fully engaged in his search, I aspire to be like him.
