He's Never Given Me Roses
Oh why oh why did I propose …
In twenty-six years not even a rose!
It was me who knelt down by the side of the bed
Suggested to you it was time we got wed
Both of us were footloose and fancy free
On Valentine’s Day I asked YOU if you’d marry me
You cracked a smile and I must confess
I was thrilled when you answered me ‘yes’
Twenty-six years we’ve been together
Our marriage vows will last forever
We’ve never ever celebrated Valentines Day
But there are three little words I want to say
I’ll let the whole world know that I LOVE YOU
These words are true and I know you love me too
By the way ...this poem is true!
