Hello Afterlife
Hello Afterlife.
We made life easy for each other
Always dwelling under each other’s cover.
I couldn’t tolerate a single minute
without her presence.
My life without hers was of no essence.
From dusk till dawn, there was creation
of memories
Without no existence of disparities.
None of life’s offers could compare with
your smile.
Although it only lasts for a while,
It was worth everything.
I always seem to forget about the world’s
existence when I’m with you,
Like a huge burden lifted up my shoulders.
We lived life like no man’s business
Although we had no witness.
It still hurts to the depth of my soul
Like an unquenchable flame that never ceases,
A friendship broken to pieces.
The last day of your stay when you pulled the plug
I had to accept it was over forever.
You arrived at noon in that golden casket,
dressed up in white with your face like grits and gravy.
That faded beauty was noticed by the crowd
and that made me feel less proud.
After months in that morgue you were
finally out
A lot had changed about thou.
It was now time to pay my last respects
Whilst walking towards you in that casket.
Immediately I got up, the coast became
clear, everyone else vanished
My mind was greatly astonished
It was just you and me.
As I walked towards your body,
Memories started to pop up before me.
I saw our childhood and it was carefully
Fading away
Your stupendous smile,
carefully braided hair,
Barefooted feets
Contagious laughter
To my dismay, my heart became heavy
and so did my eyes.
I screamed and continued to scream
without replies.
My legs began to shake
My body couldn’t take the agony of your death anymore.
I fell to the ground and so did your last
picture, It broke into pieces, the only thing I had left of you.
I wondered what could bring us back
together,
Had no intentions of placing my mind under pressure.
Even with your death, I still had no plans
of giving up.
That’s what my mind kept bringing up.
My arrival at your casket was my final
decision.
We just had this bond that could never be broken even with a collision.
I was now ready to give up everything and be with you.
As I walked outside readily, towards a moving vehicle steadily.
My last words "Hello Afterlife"..........
