Gershon, that Red Cardinal does have some major fluff and that is the way they have been looking out at the feeders here lately, but they are fluffed to help protect them from the cold. I like your sense of humor. Sara K

Yes, they do, Kim. They say that a loved one who has passed it communicating with the living. So many of my loved ones have passed and so many red birds have come to tell me everything will be okay. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Thank you, Victor. Yes, those cardinals are lovely, and my bird feeders and birdbaths have been graced by so many of their presences this winter. Sara K

The male cardinal looks fluffy with his contour feathers up because of frost. A telling haiku.

Valsa, yes, he is very puffy. LOL. He looks quite chunky but in actuality he is very lean, but if he keeps coming to the suet and birdseed, I can't guarantee about the future. Sara K

Yes, Tom. He has his feathers ruffled out to help protect him from the cold. We have another round of very cold arctic air coming in a couple of days so they will be ruffling their feathers even more. Sara K
