Heaven's Gate
I took my bow and arrow
and aimed it at the sky
the arrow struck a target
as the clouds went drifting by.
St Peter wasn’t happy,
in fact I made him cry,
for my arrow hit his ledger
for the souls who passed him by.
Now the Pearly Gates were open
‘Cause they couldn’t leave a queue,
he was certain that some devils
had managed to squeeze through.
Now there’s hell to play in heaven
and God was blaming him
St Peter now responsible
for letting devils in!
St Peter said he blamed me
for heavens sorry state.
If I hadn’t shot the arrow
he’s have never left the gate.
But now he’d like to kill me
for I’d turned his love to hate
I said please do it quickly
before again you lock the gate!
So now Angels, Me and Demons
are all playing on a cloud.
But a notice on the gatepost says
‘No Bows and Arrows allowed!”
