Heat of the Day
Smoldering in the shade
fatigue overwhelms in waves
Soaked by your own sweat
coolness you can't forget
Dying in the heat of the day
wishing the sun would go away
Skies never so blue
not a cloud to shadow you
Water warm but accept
all you thrist is for wet
It's only mid day
into the horizon hot blaze
Death Valley is not what you feel
it would be cooler in August's hell
Who made this heat everyday
when will it go away
Driving you reach the exit
finally your leaving summer in Texas
