Heartless Goddess

Even when I want to free myself
And turn to other ‘amants’
My heart still whispers
‘Oh, but I love her.’

And so I falter
And hurry back to you
And plead innocence
To a heartless goddess!

But now more than ever
I must turn my back on you
And conjure my selfish heart
To let go this silly fixation!

Would you deign to stop me?

Hi Gerald, You have written a well write that many can relate to. We all have been in relationships that brought much heartache instead of love. Then like a revolving door we go back thinking they will we give us the love we deserve. But we must say enough is enough and put ourselves first and walk away. Great job: -)Alexis

She must be something special, Gerald, otherwise you would not go back to her! Will she stop you...will you stop yourself? The gate to freedom is open, but the urge to walk out is as strong as the urge to stay in!! You offer much food for thought....Regards // paul

There are plenty of other women in the world. If this one rejects you, then it's time to move on and find somebody else. Don't waste anymore time with this one.
