Notes About The Poem

For Pierced Poetry Contest

Written 2/25/2015

He Was Pierced

Holy One, God's own Son, PIERCED for me
Every sin, put Him there, on that cross

What love, I know not why, SAVING Grace
Alone, apart from God, The Father
Separated, by your sins and mine

Pardoned, by His sacrifice, He GAVE
I, so unworthy, yet so grateful
Everlasting assurance, FINISHED
Restored, through Christ's shed blood, I AM FREE
Conquering death, Jesus ROSE again
Even now, sitting at God's right hand
Day and night, I thank Him, PIERCED for me.

Laura, this is a good poem that all Christians should read and remember their part in the nails that were driven. Congrats.

This is beautiful, Laura. Yes, those verses in Isaiah are what I've just posted to Richard Lamoureux for his poem on this theme. He also wrote of Christ. Bless you both for lifting His name up....Lovely. God bless you, dear. Again, so grateful you caught my mistake. I had so many views and no one had bothered to point that out. I appreciate it...Hugs

Thanks for your kind compliments, Eileen. I so admire your poetry, so I felt I had to point out an obvious oversight so you could put out your best work, as usual! Love in Him, Laura :)

Great testimony of your faith. The scripture from Isaiah that says He was bruised for our iniquity and by His stripes we are healed is one of my favorite. Enjoyed reading your work. Thanks for stopping by. Sara
