He Speaks For Her - Emotive Write

Sue’s two black eyes speak volumes Tears form in the corners of her swollen eyes Such sad eyes, as lifeless as a fish on a stone cold slab Her mouth quivers as she opens her split lips to speak But, with his clenched fist digging in the small of her back, her partner manipulates the situation - answering all the officer’s questions about her ‘fall’ Thankfully, this cop isn’t a dummy from past experience, he can spot the signs of domestic abuse ... The abuse angle, this is second time I've seen it. Wish I had thought of it myself. I have no idea how to do that contest but I really like how you did it, Jan. Also I see Tom got you pegged for the friends contest. Awesome!

Thanks Andrea, I've just read Carolyn's entry and am delighted we were thinking along the same lines. I woke at silly o'clock with the idea and didn't write it down, but it was still there when I woke - am not sure what Anthony will think of my interpretation of the theme but I write and just hope it gets read:-)

I'm not sure if it fits the theme Tom but I never know what my muse will come out with and I woke up with the theme in my head and have to go with the idea:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks Pandita, I'm not sure what the sponsor will think of my interpretation of the 'ventriloquist' theme, its a premiere contest and places are limited so I am fine if I don't place but the poem just had to be written:-) hugs jan xx

I see this almost every day at the homeless camp across the way. Boys should learn to make their mother/women proud of them. I hope your words will do some good! Aloha! Rico

Thanks Rico, I woke up at 4.30 with this idea in my head but didn't write it down but when I went back to sleep and got up the words came tumbling out. I have a one line I may want to edit slightly but I am glad to post a more serious write for a change:-) hugs Jan xx
