A true prayer is an inventory of needs, a catalog of necessities, an exposure of secret wounds, a revelation of hidden poverty - C.H. Spurgeon Hi died for me Like the friend I could count on To be there, fulfilling my needs, When I was without a hope And my thoughts were completely lost He died for me Like the One I could trust with my life Knowing that love would put away all strife Assuring my heart that I was precious To the One who I call my Master He died for me Like grace, the living sacrifice Answering my prayers, without even a doubt That He would answer me With a promise of restoration He died for me Like my last hope, my knowing That life would not end Because He came to be the ransom For all my worst sin He died for me Like the answer to every prayer For acceptance, joy and faith That was fully aware I could be given A life that was filled with passion He died for me Like the wisdom from my heart Piercing my pain with hope and comfort A silent knowing that God would come Back to me on that third day He died for me With only love to give to man The truth that would assure them God had a plan And He would surely come back again He died for me And I know without a doubt I am blessed as He rises in the clouds Going back to heaven to give us the chance To experience Jesus within us With time, we will finally understand The benefits of the Holy Spirit’s flow Within a soul who can always know God is alive, living inside Where He answers our prayers With the assurance That we have a friend within We are blessed beyond Our wildest dreams With a love that is Jesus Living in me, filling me to overflowing With love that just keeps growing!
