It’s sad to see you now
With trembling wrinkles,
And somber gray hair…
It feels like a shadow
Has crept in around my thoughts,
Pouring darkness over the moments,
Destroying the peace that once was…
It’s so very sad to see you now,
Your cloudy eyes,
Lingering in my prayers,
Senses steely, like the dawn’s heavy sigh,
Remember, remember…
When you were just a child
When you were young and wild
When you always laughed and smiled.
Remember, remember…
When daybreak silenced the night,
Your heart – so young and bright,
Seeking the dawn’s early light.
Remember, remember…
When you felt so tough and strong,
Your weakness didn’t last very long,
You were new to all that’s now gone.
Remember, remember…
The only thing that truly lasts,
Is the kindness, the love that has passed
Through your heart and soul,
through the moments that you know
God sent as reminders of just how His Son
can comfort and uplift anyone….
Remember, remember…
When all is said and done,
Life – she goes on till she’s gone,
But, soon, there comes that moment
When you head into the clear, blue yonder,
Where Jesus comes to meet you,
Bring you with Him – to the Father,
Where you’ll finally know the reasons…
Remember, remember…
Whatever this life brings to you,
There is One who knows all you’ve said and done,
And, He loves you more than anyone,
He loves you so much that He sent His Son,
To pay for all sin… forgive all that’s been,
Restore you to the One who sought you,
The One who loves you despite the worst,
The One who gave you a new birth….
Remember, remember….
Whatever life brings to you,
There is One who makes all things new
And He is the One who’ll always be true,
He is the One who loves you through and through!
