Hat Tip
If I’m going to hang out on a poetry site,
and offer up comments on what others write,
it seems like the best thing that I could then do:
Provide in the form of a rhymed verse or two.
But sometimes the things that you write are so great,
the horses start chomping to get out the gate.
You’re spawning whole poems with these things you do,
And before long, I’ve birthed one, with a hat tip to you!
Maurice and Milton and Gershon and Terry,
all victimized by the drive-by verse fairy.
Some say imitation is the greatest form of flattery;
Others may get annoyed, and just think it’s asshattery.
