Hassled Controversy

Hassled Controversy By Kalyani Rajalingham Delicate Jasmine, with her tender smile, Watched the splendid rose with much disparity, Marked by shame from those of her kind, Turned her sight from imperative eyes, The chrysanthemum, grandest of them all, Smiled at her whine and quoth all in all “Why you could never match the beauty of the rose!” Nosy sunflower, defied her lover’s shine, To respond to the execrating cry “None denies the beauty of the rose, for she is a pleasant sight to eyes of all, But tell me not that gold coated suitors Do not sigh for a glance at my delicate friend, For her sweet perfume tends even the wildest of hearts, Grandeur dwells in hearts of concording beats, For they are alone to perceive each other’s worth, Do not whip away the beauty of sun to the sand, For one is treasured above, the other below.” As the vanquished and the subdued Turned cold to each other’s regard, Both doggedly holding to their purpose, their belief, Pervaded Jasmine, with saturnine beauty, Suffused with her surrounding and admired the rose.
