Notes About The Poem

Has Spring Arrived For Me

Has Spring arrived in my garden?
Has the sun burst into my room all of a sudden
and made me shiver with joy!

I witness the Tulip bulbs revealing their breathtaking outfits -
                                    first sign of Spring!
I witness the brown bark of my Willow Tree
                               rapidly changing its colour.

Do I spot a boisterous squirrel scurrying, through my garden,
in a hurried pace? Then definitely it's Spring!

Everything and everyone tells me Spring is
not far. But why in me I don't feel the ebullient breeze of warm sun?

I don't feel the sun because you are not
with me! The birds are not tweeting yet,
the air is not smelling fragrant yet,
my heart is not twirling yet in expectation,

although I pine for - colourful buds, glossy green
                                  grass, honey-bees buzzing,
Are you going to keep me waiting?

Mala, this is indeed lovely ! Though spring hasn't arrived in full color and beauty, still it has begun showing signs of its arrival. Wait for a little more and it will be there to fill you with delight. Congrats on your great win

Thank you, Valsa. Right now it is very cold in Canada, but when Spring arrives, it is too beautiful to describe. This poem was written three years ago.

Aditi, you are a brilliant poet, and I am very impressed by your choice of words, and striking expressions. I read many of your poems. We are learning from each other, and I believe, I am a life-long learner. I don't know how to thank you enough for your inspiring comments. If possible, I would be delighted if you could visit my blog which I recently started. Best wishes, Dear Poet.
