There’s millions and billions hitting my skin,
Attacking my “me” in this war,
And all of them leave me a better person,
Better than I was before,
Because I laugh, I breathe, I take it all in,
My hands both reach to the sky,
They each change the guy that I used to be,
Back, when I was dry,
The noise is pure, relentlessly free,
The smell and taste and the feel,
All force me to smile and love who I am,
Force me to know what is real,
I love the rain, I love getting wet,
I love how it makes me feel whole,
I love getting drenched all over my body,
By the rain that cleanses my soul.
