Happiness

“Dear Son,” She said, “Take my words as my last plead.” “Tell me, mother. What is it?” “Let me die peacefully, and I will not last for long. I want to see you happy.” “Why, mother? What makes you think so?” She was reluctant to answer. Only he could see her cheeks moist with her tears. One quiet morning, she died peacefully. The son buried her. Performed all the rituals and came home lonely. He found a small jewelry box, in her belongings, And one note, with her handwriting. “My son, I will not last long. I want to see you happy.” Happiness, is a flock of birds, traveling from far, too far away, he thought. And the leader in the flock is the most vigilant, yet loneliest in mind!
