it broke and shattered
one piece at a time
it fell apart
had come unglued
little by little
over time
in the end
there was no fixing
it was beyond repair
barely held together
it was just for show
i just got up one day
and somehow
was determined
to get on with life
trying to mend the pieces
as well as could be expected
