Halloween Night, A Musical Video

Halloween Night with a Twist that’s inspired by the Legend of Halloween. I dare you to watch this spooky video until the very end—you might find yourself tiptoeing around every corner! Did you spot any familiar fairy tale or classic story characters? PS - No Humans or animals were harmed in the making of this video LOL. An exceptional lyrical piece and video Maria. It just oozes ‘gothicness’ mixed with some Kate Bush type singing too. Among many references / characters I noted were those of Dorothy, Pennywise and was that the classic “Carrie” ending I saw there too? The skeletons dancing at the end remind me of the ballroom scene in Disney’s Haunted Mansion:) Worthy of repeat plays and readings. Cheers - Gary

Dear Maria, You have very effectively evoked a spooky Halloween atmosphere through your use of classic imagery. I loved the video and the poem itself. Lines such as "Chill winds howl" and "hoot of an owl" evoke a spooky atmosphere and "pale moon," "black cats and bats," "shadows," and "old crooked hats" all contribute to classic Halloween iconography. Dear Beautiful Soul, you've been away? How are you? So you have Halloween in the Maldives as well? Unfortunately its too commercialised, here, too many demands from kids for more and more elaborate costumes and parties. I'm not a fan actually. However I did write the poem using the refrain 'step ever so light' after reading all these warnings being issued here to keep pets indoors. Black cats are being targeted in particular, sad. The classical piano and sound effects are amazing, thunder and owls hooting. You have thought of everything, Maria. BAH so scary...I saw so many characters, Romero & Juliet, The Joker, Lil Red. Entertaining and scary Maria, and I think there's a deeper message in the lyrics. I think I saw Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood.

oh gosh, thanks for the offer. I had a few musicians put some of my poetry to music and one is still on youtube. I wish I had the ability to understand notes and write my own music to go with some of my poems. I think it would be so cool to be connected with a musician and have a song become popular on the radio. Wouldn't that be a dream come true? Had it happened yet for you?

Thank you for your double visit Andrea. Ron and I compliment each other on content creation, in our spare time. While I do the lyrics and music and find the footage, he makes stills in Adobe Photoshop or remasters them and stitches it together seamlessly creating the videos in Adobe After Effect, on which he is very experienced, and which is used in the actual making of the videos. The vocals and music are manually mixed. It takes time - a 3 min video can take 72hours or more in Real Time, depending on the production complication. That's not counting the research time. PS you mentioned you had a lyric you would have liked put to music, I can do it for you as I have done with others if you wish, but please allow a little bit of time. Maria

This is not for a contest, it’s just a love for poetry, lyrics and music. I guess this stems from being raised in a musical family of 10 Aunts and Uncles all able to play or sing. My Dad, made up the 11th and was the leader of them all and a master musician, a prodigy, having shown his talent from the age of 3. He was able to play 18 instruments, as well as play the xylophone with 8 hammers. He was the lead violinist in many well-known musicals and ballets. He taught some greats - Free - including a famous Conductor in California. On the downside, we found his boots too daunting to step into – Lol – Hugs Maria

Maria your words are so correct and true. This is a Fav for your creative message here that I believe is so true. If people only knew what occurs on Halloween. It is a day I do not participate in. So many children and animals go missing on Halloween. Your Poem really reflects what Halloween represents. The occult love casting spells on this day, they also participate in sacrificial rituals of animals and even children. Many Witches that have became Christians share their incredible stories of what take place on Halloween. Thank you for writing Maria Hugs...

Thank you for your double comment Michael. I'm glad you detected the underlying dark legend of Halloween in my video. Thankfully, the issues you mentioned above dosen't seem to exist in Australia, and children have to be accompanied by an adult, by law, if they go trick or treating. But everything has become so sales driven, and parents have to put up with 'The Sugar Highs' from kids and the expense. Thank you again for your FAVE and astute comments - Hugs Maria
