It was one of those
mornings when rain poured sideways...
horizontal blinds.

It was a happy
morning when flowers awoke...
springtime explosion.

Well done, George, great haiku. You could have used a vertical expulsion from the earth as from bulbs. But maybe that would have been a little too much similarity. I like it as it is and congratulations on your placement.
