Grrrrrrrrrr

Grrrrrrrrrr a Boa slithers by, Grrrrrrrrrr a sentient mothers cry. Her form neither sensed or seen, blended by the forest green. Phantom of the forest floor, she treads so soft, a quiet paw. Her body sleek no surplus ounce, reactions sharp the purrrfect pounce. Stillness rules that amber eye, a beating heart in darkening sky. For her the world grows smaller, the trees fall and the buildings taller. Houses, factories, breed like sin, she must move or die within. Her spotted coat a painting pure, stealth and strength, can she endure. Her future threatened, her world s dying, the forest sounds of wildlife crying. Oh! that amber eye, stares at me and asks of why. She turns her head and walks away, soft paws tread and live that day. The Jaguar under so much pressure. Their numbers dwindle we should be so ashamed

The Jaguar is a very beautiful animal but I would not want to look one face to face in the wild. Great write that is educational and a tribute to the animal. Keep the creative pen flowing. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work. Sara

The image of this boa staring at you accusatorily gives me the chills, Daniel. Because of over development and dwindling habitat, Florida's state animal -- The Florida Panther -- faced extinction. We had to import Western cougars to replenish the species, but they will never be pure panthers again. Indeed, we should be "so ashamed." Excellent write that evokes compassion for endangered species. Much love, carolyn
