Growth
A child of wonder sought to grow
Choked so by ignorant minds in tow
But grew to stand, not to retreat
From those who sought only to defeat
But how can love not find its way
If deep within one’s heart it’s laid
Some can never hope to grasp
How one survives a hijacked past
As spring gives way to summer heat
And autumn mellows; mouths to feed
Harsh winters cannot care deplete
The resurrected joy in me
(For the competition - I was given the noble name Patricia.
Some favourite things are babies and kittens and wishing folks to do better ... Thanks for nudging me to share ...)
