"Grief is the price we pay for love. " Queen Elizabeth II
( First verse, 6 lines taken from my poem Ache, written 02/25/2023)
Ache, ache, aching is my soul for those whose,
breathing pulse is no more;
coffin closed their bones decay to dust,
death, oh death you are a thief that comes creeping.
Each night my memories drift, drift, and my;
fathomless tears could fill oceans.
It is said that time heals grief, well I am not sure,
but it does allow for acceptance;
their bones decay but their spirits live,
they exist within my heart and I carry them everywhere.
Each memory is a treasure I hold close;
tears are no more but my love is fathomless.
