Notes About The Poem

Grief

Like April showers her tears suddenly started f a l l i n g then they quickly dried We hugged and we talked and we cried and cried some more then … there was laughter as we reminisced and remembered the happy times we once shared 04/21/21

Thanks for watching my back, this poem is very personal to me for so many reasons and i know others can relate. I will ignore his comment and if he can't understand this poem perhaps he would be best suited to reading my nursery rhymes which give names and tell a story. hugs Jan xx

Love the layout Jan, you've created a scenario that most of us have experienced after someone dear to us have passed away. Lots of tears then laughter as happy memories come to mind. Tom

Jan, oh such a beautifully sad poem, I am amazed at your talent but not surprised that you can write such a poem on grief, and created a wonderful layout too, like I always say, you are not just a limerick poet, but you are a poet through and through, never mind the negative comment, love _Constance

Jan, the 'who' or 'we' doesn't matter. The grief shared between friends is the point. Leaving your lines in an ambiguous state allows your reader to use his imagination to evoke emotions. If a reader has no imagination and must be led by the hand to comprehend your meaning....pity. A guessing game only to those who have no creative ingenuity. I think your omission of detail makes your poem as wonderful as it is.

Who is "her"? Who are "we"? Without names the reader is not engaged.Poetry should not be a guessing game.

You couldn’t be more wrong David. If you want names and an exact story line then go read a book. Did you read the title and the poem? She did a wonderful job. Go troll somewhere else you dimwit!
