Grass Thru the Hourglass - Nursery Rhyme
Some grass is short, some grass is long
Some grass can bend with the breeze.
Some grass is soft, some grass is wet
And in winter, hard from the freeze.
Morning’s dew, like diamonds strewn,
Night’s dew, a blanket of stars.
Of parks, of pastures, of rolling planes
I prefer these thoughts by far.
The cow, the robin, the lamb agree,
And I’m thankful on my way.
To smell the grass, to make time pass
More slowly through my day.
