Granddaughter Ava
Hair like fine spun gold,
Not a curl in sight.
Eyes of azure blue,
that sparkle with delight.
A cute, turned up nose,
And a Mona Lisa smile.
Creative imagination,
But not a speck of guile.
Graceful little gymnast,
She's as limber as can be.
Watching her perform,
She didn't get it from me.
She's a beauty and a charmer,
And she knows it very well.
She knows just what to say and do,
To put us under her spell.
She's living in Kentucky now,
Which is far away from me.
If only she lived closer,
How happy I would be.
