The U-boat captain walked into a shop
He bought a submariner’s periskop
One day he ran aground
Watching birds fly around
“Gott im Himmel, das is ein teleskop!”

I wrote it completely in English with the title ‘Sky watch’… it wasn’t funny, but when I added the German (which I don’t speak) it took on a whole different feel. I’m guessing that you learned your grasp of German, as I did, from comics… ie Achtung, schnell, and of course, Gott im Himmel ;-)
