Always by my side

Buried you today
Silent tears fall like raindrops 
Why did my dog have to die?

So sad. I have dogs and they are my children. We lost one last year to bone cancer and your poem speaks to the heart of every true dog lover. It brings back strong memories for me. Great write and a true fact!

Oh, Jan, I felt the same way with my last Yorkie. Tator was 15 years old health but blind, no teeth, and sense of smell gone. He died in his sleep it was very hard to take. Blessings dear friend & congratulations on your win 7

Hi Jan! Any animal lover who's had them for pets know what it means to lose a dear friend. You speak for them all. Our cat died aged 17 years; the budgie was 14 years...both are sorely missed. No more pets, I said...but here we are again with a tortoise, budgie, cat and java sparrow. hugs // paul

It is an emotional write Paul when we lost our family cat Poshpaws we never got another pet - I am sure the menagerie of pets give you all and especially Valentina a lot of pleasure:-) Hugs jan xx

Jan, a sad write that took an unexpected turn for me, although you say this is fictional, it touches the heart of anyone who has ever loved and lost a beloved pet, well done and best of luck in the contest and thanks for the visit ~~

awe no, I am sorry, :( I get so sad when I lose a dog, they are so human, sometimes they show us we are more human than we do ourselves, I just lost my beagle, she was the beagle from hell, but I still loved her,
