Goodbye Darling Peter Pan

Dearest Child-Adventuring Man, My Darling Peter Pan: Since that never to be forgotten day when Wendy first brought you my way, my heart has been enchanted thru and true with love for you. You are as magical as your happy-thought dust that brought me flight thru star-glimmer skies, shimmering great joy from my soul-core straight to my eyes. With you, I have felt amazing fantasy as enthralling reality because of the wonder that is you and your purview. I love Neverland, Tinker Bell, the boys and the countless joys that made up the minutes of each day we shared. Though nothing in my future will ever compare, I can no longer deny that I am compelled to step into adulthood, that such is what I should do, what I am meant to do, and must do without you. In your world, I will always be your girl, but in the traditional world, I must let my woman unfurl. What is calling me onward and forward is all that you would never walk toward and risk dying adult-bored. i Turn any woe into a splendid crow of much ado, repeat until woe has winded you, then smile to know - I shall always gratefully and lovingly remember you …. [I have loved Peter Pan since age four and still wish I could Peter Pan the sky]. ... CayCay ... Natasha Scagg A Conversation with Peter Pan

I love your comments. When my son was three years old he liked to start each morning by having me (Wendy) sow on his shadow. I'd say, "I fear this may hurt" and my son would reply, "I never cry." Oh - I love that memory! We delight in the Mary Martin version that we wore out and need replace eventually. All the best ... CayCay

Beautiful words Cay. I believe we all live in Neverland at one time or another. On one hand we want to become adults and live our own lives. On the other hand we want to stay kids forever, without a care in the world. ~Deanna~

Hello Cay Cay, Wendy wrote a love note to Peter. It was sad because she must move n with her life without Peter. Have a nice evening my friend.

Oh, I loved this, (I live in Neverland, you know - STILL), and I love that you included the word "Darling" ... it's not on any chart, you must find it with your heart! Blessings and congratulations on your well-deserved win, CayCay - keep up the wonderful work, my friend - "A writer writes - always!"

Caycay, has he judged the contest? I see he left you a comment!! Dang, maybe he did not like mine!! I really love the perspective you took with yours, Caycay. The approach of having to leave behind beautiful childhood for the adult world. This is a timeless theme that you nailed here!!

Oh my Tinkerbell Talent, I have been painting Peter Pan canvases for years. I have 5 shirts and 2 hats somewhere that say I will never grow up. I so want to figure out how to express my Peter Pan. Because although I adore him he is me and I am him so it would be totally different. I had almost forgotten about me being a Peter Pan Avatar. Thank you for reminding me CayCay. Your poem awoke a once upon a time huge piece of my heart!

Well, don't ever grow up, don't ever wear a tie and should you need your shadow sown back on for any reason, I will help you. Mary Martin is my Peter Pan and I passed that video down to my son when he was quite young. LOVE it, Love him, too! Good to know you are feeling well enough to get on Soup - keep that up! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
