Notes About The Poem

Good Luck Halloween

It looked intently at the moon, to spy on the old haggard thief,
With his mean old trick, no treat, he meant to spread poor children's grief.
The witch gave the cat a mighty spell that would spike the old man's spleen
All young children in costumes will relish this year's Halloween.

Hi Victor. Trick or Treat (smile with a ha ha ha). Your words are right in the spirit of the day and night for children of all ages. Its sad that children of today will not know the magic of it the way we did because it was a different world back then. Peace Love and Blessings always. PS - what is your costume this year (another smile and ha ha ha) Please know I am joking... Your entry is lovely.

I don’t celebrate Halloween but did as a kid so some of that still comes out in my poetry.

I think if my grand-daughter one day takes part in Halloween, I would follow her from afar. It's just not as safe any more. But a cleverly composed write. Thank-you for you get well wishes Victor - i'm on the mend, nearly there. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer

Halloween is more a children's celebration. Let them enjoy wearing different ghoulish costumes and going from house to house. Happy Halloween to you Victor !

It's certainly a big thing now, the shops are full of masks and stuff making a lot of money for China where most of the merchandise comes from. Tom

Good one Victor! - Children must be aware and take care, for some can be cruel and mean taking advantage of Halloween… Have fun everyone… Belle

- As children we had not heard of Halloween ... it is the last 15-20 years that we have started with it in Norway ... becoming "bigger" over the years - Hope big and small children get a lot of joy and a lot of candy .. .. Happy Halloween - Thanks for your lovely poem, Victor :) - hugs
