Notes About The Poem

Gone

she was a caterpillar, i her cocoon she was the music i her dance she was the rose i her thorns she was lost among the stars i showed her the moon i drifted like a tepid breeze but she was lost in the storm she was right i was not wrong she lit the fire i burned like hell

Dear Silent One, your impassioned pen touches upon the facets of love. The beginning, the end, the agony and the ecstasy.. dramatic, romantic and dynamic imagery. Wonderful word pairings depict both the harmony and conflict of something started that's not meant to be. Congratulations for your win in Brian's contest. Warmest wishes my inspiring friend.. ~Susan

Yeah, I just love the presentation of this one - very matter-of-fact - and the multiple metaphors of the ways one human being can affect another. Very nicely done, my friend - fav-ing this one! Blessings and Merry Christmas, Silent One! :-)

I know the feeling, especially when she extinguished the fire...but I found a better fire place now and she is beautiful inside and out. What cooking good looking? True love...

Wow, now the structure you used to fit this together....is...my kind of free verse...and the need for silence hurts my eyes to look at noise outside my mind. VERY COOL.

They say- Opposites attract. Yes, I find that to be true. However, not in all cases. This is beautiful and heartbreaking, all at the same time. Many blessings to you my friend. ~ Brandy
