Gods Paintbrush
Our night sky is barren tonight
We’ve built subdivisions, And
Towers
Where
Every Free inch
Blocks the beauty of a once
Swim-able River
Now
Poisonous to its fish friend occupants
Where
Stars are overpowered by
Neon lighs and limelight brights
Leave a disgusting
Stain
THAT WAS
On a once beautiful sunset
canvas
by god’s paintbrush
now left by mans
graffiti
ugly words
now its tainted
These giants
Choke the
Atmosphere with their toxic breath
And where shall
I draw from moments of comfort?
When
Screaming sirens
Cut through the silence of
Nights where my body
Tosses and turns
And crickets
Songs are no more
Because everything in the city
Is synthetic
And has killed
Our green organic
But I am here
Trapped in a suburbia nightmare
Not my home
Who will save us from here?
