  In frozen thaw
time is a river that calls
  and I a ripple
upon its rapids and falls.
  By God begun
I will follow its end until
  my river is run
and the waters are still
  until I rise again.

  Time and space
and gravitational waves
  wash over me
beside its portal graves.
  In flux and flow
I’m between the spatial
  of fire and ice
but God’s time is glacial
  and mine is not.

  He is the Omni
and knows me by name,
  He is the flood
and is my eternal flame.

Dear Keith, your prayerful poem is simply beautiful. Your rhyme scheme is lovely and enhances the pious expression of this piece. Indeed, the separation in stature between man and God is keenly, soulfully felt, yet so is the connection. Love your thoughtful vibrant symbolic use of imagery too. Congratulations for your success in Rob's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Excellent write, Keith! It has something like psalmic rhythm to it. And I like the water and waves imagery you used. They're my favourite elements.

Had not heard the term omnificence before: my introduction to another one of God's infinite attributes. Glacial meaning icy cold or immovable (in slang) hardly describes the God I worship. Not sure what you imply with "God's time is glacial." Still I thank you for mentioning omnificence.

Think of our time as a river and God’s as a glacier. That’s the shallow answer.

This is wonderful Keith! So intimate and thoughtful... like a prayer. Xo

Thank you, Crystol. We are all earth, wind, and fire. Oh, and ice too!

Each one of us is a world in and of itself connected to eternity. From a ripple to a river and Matthew 16:25 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Thanks for supporting my contest.

Thanks Hilda. I learned a new word today (apodictic). I was feeling very mortal when I wrote this. God bless.

A reverent poem from the Keefer? Why not. A God of infinity hard to comprehend, yet we believe it is true. Someday our understanding of time and space may expand. For now, we wait on his salvation... In his time - 2 Peter 3:8,9

Hello Keith. The rhyme, flavor and depth of this poem is right up my alley meaning, it's the kind of poetry that I most prefer to read and write about. I love the imagery of the river coupled with fleeting time along with God's (the Omni) ultimate control over life and death. It's a gripping and enigmatic piece of poetry. Both thre poem and you go to my FAV's and hope to visit you again. Write on, Terrell
