God Has This

Blessed to have my health and my family’s health Respectfully sheltering in place just incase Creatively painting, drawing, cartooning and writing Ordinary things we used to take for granted are missed now Heartfelt appreciation for nature, my new companion. Slinking in the corner of my mind are doubts about this pandemic Lazy days are sprouting up, as today is the last day of school for me Energetically excited about the things I will be doing this summer Generously not calling a relative on her stuff, retaining my own happiness Negative doubts about this pandemic being real creeping into my mind Young at heart, I do not see myself any older than nineteen some days Mysteriously happy about the self-imposed solitude that is gifting me time Lickity split decisions are no longer the case, there is so much less stress Zany how excited I am about not having to drive on the freeway daily Understandably anxious to get back to normal and see my grandchildren Doubtful about all of these virus deaths, want to see a list of names please. Wishing this pandemic had never happened – here or anywhere else. I am praying nightly and sometimes in the day too that Covid19 will disappear. Kindergarten will never be able to stay six feet apart, so I marvel at that suggestion. Awesome that the summer is starting for me today! In nine hours! Optimistic that God has this!

Wow, ever so true. I love your write. I have always loved nature, the clouds, birds chirping, the cool breeze blowing and all the simple pleasures of life. I used to teach Pre-K, so I understand about the four and five year old kids very well. By the way, I am from New Orleans, so I didn't have to do no research, that's just the way we talk. For some reason, our language does not consist of subject/verb agreement, but I do know and understand the difference. Keep writing, you are a great poet!

Wishing you a great summer --- and none of us are sweating the kindergardeners 'not socially distancing.' What an absurd farce that would be! :) gw

That would be an IMPOSSIBILITY CDC, and what about the preschoolers? Do you know how fast they are all over each other?
