Go Green - Recycle Old People

Now that I've got your attention Here's what I really intend to mention One of the most vital resources to uplift our nation Has been warehoused and stored in suspended animation The wise men and woman who constitute our brain trust Have been put out to pasture to collect dust, to rust Among many cultures that constitute our country's formation The elders of former tribes and clans held the highest stations The wisdom they've learned in their lifetimes of living Was esteemed by youth and cherished when given They also embody skills and talents and abilities To pass on to posterity to grow our communities Why do we view our elders as out of style When their experience and knowledge is perpetually fertile It was their foresight and vision that brought us thus far And they built the foundation to achieve our tomorrows We forget they once knew the youth we know now And learned from mistakes we've yet to learn how Our seniors know sexy, hip, smooth and cool And despite what we think they're not easily fooled If we're smart as we think we would seek their wise counsel Otherwise, to match their life achievements is doubtful Oh right, Green...the color of life, renewal, harmony and growth The recycling of life from youth to old to youth to old to youth...
