Glow From Within

I thought I lost
What made me unique
Torn from my heart,
Locked away in a box
With no key to open the lock.

Lost within my thoughts,
A well with a drought
Mine felt half empty
It nearly ran out.

The nostalgia of my youth
The clue to learning the truth,
Reflecting in a mirror
To see things clearer.

Just need to take a step back
To reflect on my past
Recollect what I knew
Remember the things I've loved
That made who I am.

Then it came to me
Like a spark of a flame
That grew into a fire
Started to rise within me.

A special glow of the heart
Deep within the soul
Luminous light from within
Shining bright like the sun.

Glowing brighter than before
Helping me to unlock the door
What was once lost long ago
Is now found once again
Stronger than before.

Fears blowing away in the wind
Worries wash down the river
No more holding back
Going to take the leap.

No need to hide myself
Time to test my limits
To learn what I can do
I won't know until I try.

Trust the glow within
To lead me down the path
Dreams waiting to take flight
Ready to make the jump.

Free to be myself
No more hiding
Let the glow shine
For the world to see.

I love your boldness, and I find it so interesting that you refer to "glow" rather than "shine," which is probably more common. "Glow From Within" leaves me with comfort and confidence to take on the world. Let it glow!

Absolutely! I strongly condone the end message here. Shine on, above the rain, remembering & cherishing your identity. This was great! Nice to meet you, Megan! :)
