Given To Me, By You
Over the mountains to the debts of the sea
I’ll always feel your presence deep within me.
Your time here on Earth was all too shortly lived
But you helped others freely, gave all you had to give.
“Together, she said, “We would stand tall.”
Alone I feel powerless, weak, and small.
The sorrow hits in pains I’ll never comprehend.
I’ll never see your smile, your laugh, you here on Earth again.
When times come to worry and I feel out of breath
I’ll miss your mind, as our memories are meshed.
How did you survive all you went through?
I pray for half the strength I saw in you.
But its times like these I begin to understand,
You’ll never abandon me, never let go of my hand.
I look around me today and so many things remind me of you.
There’re still painful to look at today,
But they are blessings given to me by you.
