Gift of Parenthood
Baby toes wiggle in long slumber
his peachy mouth yawning, cooing
bathed in the innocence of a quick smile
glowing like daylight's new welcome--
just then, pebble eyes awaken
to twinkle and blink, and glimmer.
My lungs heave from such a miracle
as I cradle our first offspring with delight
thanking angels for this gracious gift;
an honor of another title--parents!
