Now gently, oh so gently, lay me down caress me into blessed tranquil bliss with tenderness undress me from this gown then bend to touch my lips with ardent kiss I cannot bear to stay here long and so my craving to be free, you need to tend most gladly will I close my eyes and go to places where your gracious hand will send A place where I am loved is what I miss you know the way to give me sweet relief and so I yield to you, and ask but this do not prolong our tryst, but make it brief Oh Death, you've tried to win my heart before I give it now, for I can take no more Eileen Manassian

Good Afternoon Eileen. Please allow me to let your words and entry stand for there is nothing I could add. Your words are most expressive with the emotive factor being ever present especially with the ending. Well done in its entirety.

Thank you, dear Laura. I wrote this in a deep moment of pain. Sometimes death doesn't seem like such a bad thing. Hugs

Wow! That ending couplet was a stunner. Caught me completely by surprise, Eileen. A powerful poem no doubt. Embracing death is such a taboo subject. You addressed it w/grace and honesty. Such a stirring poem. 7+! Love and hugs, dear.

Thank you, Freddie. The Lord knows when our time is up. Every day we live is written in his book. Sometime we chaff and moan, thinking we know better. We need to leave it to His will....easier said than done. Hugs

Thank you, Kim. I wrote this when I was absolutely fed up with life. May God forgive me. I don't mean to be ungrateful, but sometimes it's more than I can bear. Thank you for your visit, dear. You cheer the heart.
